When Julies son Zac turned 16 he offered her one of his fortune cookies, which she had given to him as a present. You won't believe what Julie's fortune was.
Everything that happens to you is your teacher. The secret is to learn to sit at the feet of your own life and be taught by it.

When my son turned 16 recently I decided to buy him some fortune cookies. He’d become interested in martial arts and for a long time has had a fascination of China.
Sitting on my bed together, We unwrapped his food treats and birthday money.
Later he asked me “would you like a fortune cookie Mum”
“Sure Zac” I replied.
“Sebastian got one” Zac informed me
“What did it say” I asked.
“If you fail to plan – you plan to fail”
Smiling at the appropriateness of that statement I reached into the box to select mine.
“You just pull the note out here Mum ” instructed Zac.
I pulled the piece of paper out of it’s neatly rolled cookie and handed it to Zac to read to me.
“You think as parents you are here to teach your children but it is your children who are sent to teach you”
Happy 16 Birthday Zac! Or is that “Happy 16th Birthday Mum?”
