Wayne Dyer
It was my holiday and I got a text. Rushing to my inbox with anticipation my hopes for exciting news were crushed as I learned of it’s origin. It was Vodophone informing me my cell phone payment was overdue.
So upon return from my holiday I went on line to pay the roughly $40 bill. Crikey – after checking on line I also learned that it wasn’t $40 but $139! Keen to find out why the amount was so high I remembered there would be text fees from Tasmania which I had expected but amongst the expected was an amount for $18.11 for data. Unable to fathom the whole thing I decided to ring their Customer Services team.
After talking to the Customer Services rep for a few moments she responded with
“Plus there is a $18.11 data charge for when you accessed the internet through your phone”.
“But I don’t know how to do that “ I replied.
“But you must have otherwise the charge wouldn’t be showing” she rebutted.
“But I didn’t intend to access the internet even if I did accidentally which I can’t believe I did because I don’t know how to do it”
“I’m sorry but we have to charge you for this as we have been passed on this cost by another provider”
After a long discussion I Finally admitted defeat and hung up with the last word.
“You mean to tell me as well as being blind I don’t have a leg to stand on!”
“You may have to lose your voice once in a while but don’t ever lose your sense of humour!”
