Top of the morning to ya this bright and sunny St Patrick’s morning.
The Blarney Stone (Irish: Cloch na Blarnan) is a block of Carboniferous limestone[1] built into the battlements of Blarney Castle, Blarney, about 8 kilometres (5 mi) from Cork, Ireland. According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of the gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery).
In 1992, I got to go to Blarney Castle and kiss the stone myself when I was on my OE with partner Mark, and friends Jenny and Cathy. Kissing the stone was a huge thrill at the time but I didn’t really believe in it’s magical powers! However, now that I’m a professional speaker, maybe it does work???????
So, on this bright and sunny Autumn morning, warm wishes to you all on this happy St Patrick’s Day!
Kiss someone or something that is Irish today! You never know what might happen!
Mwah!
