Happy birthday to you
Happy Birthday Helen Keller!
It’s going to be such an exciting day!
Make sure you all tune in to Otago Access Radio at 9 am today (yes that’s you too Helen) to hear the Oarsome morning show with Ron and I! We’ve got loads of Helen music and other stuff standing by!
And if you missed it the other day!
You are invited to Blooming braille!
A braille art exhibition that makes your heart and garden grow!
Opening on Helen Keller Day, Friday 27 June, 2014.
Every year the international blind community celebrates the life of one of their greatest human beings, Helen Keller. Helen was not only one of the world’s biggest optimists, but she was also one of the planet’s Number 1 nature lovers! Playing with braille since she learned as a 35 year old adult, Julie Woods has caught Helen’s nature and optimism bug to put together a collection of art works that will have you positively blooming!
Come along and decode the art works on Helen’s 134th birthday!
What: Blooming braille!
Where: Eden Flowers, 235 King Edward Street, South Dunedin
When: 5 pm
Why: Because you’ll get a glass of bubbles in a braille champagne glass and you might catch the optimism bug or even come away with some green braille reading fingers!
Who: ‘that blind woman’ Julie Woods 021 913 513 and Chris Abbott (03) 456 2901
I’d love you to circulate the attached flyer for this event!! The more the merrier! It’s going to be fun!
